ExifData.io is a free, browser-based tool that allows users to view and remove EXIF, XMP, IPTC, and other metadata from files such as images, PDFs, documents, and archives. The Service operates entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript.

• All file processing occurs locally on your device. Files are never uploaded to any external server.
• No account creation or registration is required to use the Service.
• The Service is provided free of charge and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

ExifData.io does not warrant or guarantee that:

• The Service will remove all metadata from all file formats or versions. Certain proprietary, obscure, or deeply embedded metadata may not be detected or removed.
• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• Cleaned files will be identical in quality, size, or format to the originals. Image re-encoding may introduce minimal quality differences.
• The results of the Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ExifData.io, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, file corruption, or damage to files during processing.
• Incomplete or failed metadata removal from any file type or format.
• Any consequences resulting from the use or distribution of files processed through the Service.
• Reliance on the Service for compliance with any legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations.

You acknowledge that the Service processes files locally in your browser and that you are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your original files.

5. Your Files & Your Responsibilities

You retain all rights, ownership, and interest in any files you process using the Service. ExifData.io does not claim any rights over your content, nor does it access, collect, store, or transmit your files at any point.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the legal right to process the files you submit to the Service.
• You accept full responsibility for how you use, distribute, or share files that have been cleaned using the Service.
• You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• You understand that removing metadata does not guarantee anonymity or prevent identification through other means.

6. Intellectual Property

The ExifData.io name, logo, website design, user interface, and underlying source code are the intellectual property of ExifData.io and its creators. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except as expressly permitted by applicable law or where we have given you written permission to do so.

7. Service Availability & Changes

ExifData.io is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Third-Party Libraries

The Service uses open-source libraries and tools to perform file processing. These third-party components are subject to their own licenses and terms. ExifData.io does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or security of any third-party code and is not responsible for any issues arising from their use.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ExifData.io, its operators, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the jurisdiction where the Service operators reside.
